Cookies and similar technology

Cookies are small files stored by a browser. Similar technologies include local storage and identifiers used to remember choices or recognise a device. UK rules can require consent for storing or accessing information even when it is not personal data.

What the tools use

Our own tool scripts do not set cookies or use localStorage or sessionStorage. They use browser memory, canvas, downloads and, when you choose to copy a result, the clipboard. The PHP pages do not start login sessions. The QR page loads a library from jsDelivr; that network request is distinct from sending your QR content for processing.

Advertising and consent storage

Google AdSense is enabled on this site. Auto Ads may select ad placements and formats automatically.

When advertising is active, Google and its vendors may use cookies or similar technology for ad delivery, personalisation, measurement and fraud prevention. The consent service may store your preferences so it can remember your decision. The names, providers and lifetimes depend on the active services and choices; consult the Google consent message and Google’s cookie information for current details. This site does not present an unverified fixed cookie inventory.

Your choices

Where consent is required, the Google-certified CMP must collect your choice before the relevant optional storage or processing. Consent must be an affirmative choice: continuing to browse is not consent. You can decline optional purposes and still use the tools. Non-personalised advertising is not a blanket exemption from cookie consent requirements.

When the Google CMP is available, use “Privacy and cookie settings” in the footer to reopen its message. The site does not use a separate homemade banner or store its own consent flag. If the settings control is missing while you see advertising, contact us through Contact and check whether a browser extension has blocked the CMP.

You can also delete or block cookies in your browser. Deleting a consent record may cause the message to appear again; blocking cookies is not the same as notifying every provider that you withdraw consent. Use the CMP to change the choices it manages.
